Ryan Heath is an artist and educator whose work spans new media, painting, and sculpture. His practice is driven by a desire to make the invisible machinery of modern life feel newly strange, highlighting the friction between the knowable, measurable, and administrative - and the unknowable, mystical and arcane.
Previous works include a virtual‑reality experience housed inside a portable toilet, a seemingly sentient arcade machine that negotiates with its players, and a magical‑realist fulfilment centre where logistics and ritual blur.
Heath is a lecturer in Fine Art at Nottingham Trent University and an associate studio member at BACKLIT Gallery and Broadway’s Near Now Studio.
Alongside his studio practice, he delivers workshops for people of all ages, collaborating with organisations such as Nottingham Refugee Forum, Harris Museum, and Tate Modern.
